  • Introduction to Linguistics (LING1) - fully online/ asynchronous

Through this course, students learn about the mechanics of language, by engaging:
  • their personal beliefs about language
  • stories of people who use oral, written, tactile, signed languages, and other communicative modalities around the world
  • original scholarly research 
  • interdisciplinary connections to language and linguistics, including with public history, the arts, media, endangered languages, computer science, and action on climate change and racial equity
